A Travelers Guide to Muir Woods National Park

Recently I got to go on vacation to San Francisco with my mother and grandmother for my grandma's 70th birthday. It has been her wish to go see the giant red woods and on this trip we got to make her wish come true.

At the beginning of the day we boarded a bus that we going to take us on our adventure to the Red Woods. The bus ride took us through windy roads and down narrow paths. When we almost got to the park we lost cell phone reception. Being a millennial my first reaction was to freak out because I couldn't bare the thought of not having cell phone reception. However, once we got into the park more and started walking around I didn't even notice that I couldn't text my friends or boyfriend.

When we got to the entrance of the park you are immediately hit with all of the trees. Although we weren't officially in the park yet you could still see a lot of the Red Woods because they stand so high. Heading into the park you are able to follow a trail that takes you all around the trees. You can stand by them and really take in how massive these marvelous trees really are. Standing under them, it makes you stop and your jaw drops. I thought to myself, "how can trees even get this big."

Walking further down the trail you get to a part where you aren't aloud to talk. It is a place in the trail where you can really take in the beauty and thank God for what he has created.

Finally our time in Muir Woods came to and end. We all piled back onto the bus and headed back to where it picked us up. We slowly gained more cell phone reception and headed back into the real world. I was happy that I could text everyone again, but I would forever be grateful for my time in nature; especially because I got to spend it with my mother and grandmother.
